David Choi Likes the Snow…

Well, I don’t really know. But for those who longed for more David Choi, here’s his rendition of “Walking in Winter Wonderland.”

Like any Paula-ish judge would say, a “breath of fresh air”. If you want more of him, go to his MySpace page, or his YouTube channel.

Adding to the Christmas List Is…

Well, his name is Seymour Fiyero. He’s a methodist, and he tried to sing the song “My Grown Up Christmas List” in his church.

Did he succeed? Let’s find out.

I personally had no experience whatsoever singing in front of many people, so I can’t blame brother Seymour for having the nerves while singing the song. Yes, it’s a bit shaky, and he seems to calculate all the moves he makes while singing. I say, lose them all and just focus on the singing part, and I believe he can reach higher notes flawlessly.

I also liked his getting the “innocence” back in the singing. I first heard this like 10 years ago, and what caught my attention is the sincerity in singing the song. Kelly Clarkson could’ve done it the same way, and so should American Idol classmate Clay Aiken, but they were branded as “Idols”, and as marketed, they shouldn’t be ordinary singers. I personally hate their versions especially when I listen to their renditions in my iPod Shuffle. They’re like angry mountain ogres yelling their hearts out for world peace. (You get the irony?)

I hope we could hear more from Seymour for this is his only YT video from his channel.

‘Tis the Season of Cover Versions

For the first Holidays Season installment of Christmas Cover songs, let me share you this amazing girl who did a Monica Medley of “My Grown Up Christmas List”, “Let There Be Peace on Earth”, and “Silent Night”.

Her voice reminds me of my classmate in high school. Same diction, phrasing, and pitch. Though the girl from the video above is not that pitch-perfect. She seems to maneuver her voice to a safer pitch rather than risking the high notes.

I wonder if I could also get a YT cover video from my high school classmate. (Sighs)
