Well, his name is Seymour Fiyero. He’s a methodist, and he tried to sing the song “My Grown Up Christmas List” in his church.
Did he succeed? Let’s find out.
I personally had no experience whatsoever singing in front of many people, so I can’t blame brother Seymour for having the nerves while singing the song. Yes, it’s a bit shaky, and he seems to calculate all the moves he makes while singing. I say, lose them all and just focus on the singing part, and I believe he can reach higher notes flawlessly.
I also liked his getting the “innocence” back in the singing. I first heard this like 10 years ago, and what caught my attention is the sincerity in singing the song. Kelly Clarkson could’ve done it the same way, and so should American Idol classmate Clay Aiken, but they were branded as “Idols”, and as marketed, they shouldn’t be ordinary singers. I personally hate their versions especially when I listen to their renditions in my iPod Shuffle. They’re like angry mountain ogres yelling their hearts out for world peace. (You get the irony?)
I hope we could hear more from Seymour for this is his only YT video from his channel.

I have to ask what version of My grown up Christmas list of Clay’s do you have? I have never heard him sing that song with any yelling, he’s always done it in slow mellow notes, Has he done the Glory-note yell off that Kelly Clarkon did? ( I don’t like that style on that song either) I’m just curious, I guess because I liked his recorded version from last year.
Great Video by the way.
Well, I have to agree with you. But you see, the difference with Seymour above and Clay was that sir Seymour feels the song, and Clay feels like he needs to be consistent with his style. When they both reach the high notes, it felt like yelling for sir Clay.
Or maybe it’s just me. I’m sorry if my eardrums are to thin.
