First of all, I want to thank Mr. David Choi for allowing this site to feature him as our very first CoverCove Much Coveted artist of the month. Of course, you guys will still hear David Choi news here, and I’m hoping he could share us more of his music.
BTW, I’m currently getting an interview for CoverCove’s second Much Coveted artist, and as promised, he or she could be any of the people who were previously featured in the “Cove Stove.” Votes won’t be counted for now (kinda sad that only a few voted), and I’m hoping that this month, more people would email me about their favorite YT artists, or more of you guys rate the article pertaining to a Cove Stove artist.
So, who could that mystery artist be? You’ll find out in the first week of October.
… The twenty-first day of September. And this cover is a breath of fresh air from the usual version that we hear from Earth, Wind & Fire’s concerts or in Karaoke places. Enjoy this video from YT user byMichDotCom:
I like the piano playing, and the vocals is like jazzy. I like!
Like before, I will tell my story how I came up with finding this video. First, I had this thought of looking for a cover video in YT that says “September” in it. The first song that came in mind was Earth, Wind and Fire’s “September”. Searching “september cover” in YT led me to songs like “A Lonely September” and “Wake Me Up When September Ends.” I guess I’m too old for songs, no?
Of course, I know how the Green Day hit sounds like. Seeing this at the first part made me tell myself, “Next… this guy is bored.” Then he strummed the guitar. It was off-key. That got my interest, and it had a promise of making it sound more different (than the original).
A really nice find, don’t you guys think? By the way, his name is “Christopher Alvarado” (based on his MySpace page), and here is his YouTube Channel.
I’ve don’t know how a Mandolin sounded like (just heard the name from the movie Captain Correli’s Mandolin). Our “Much Coveted” has done it again, and awed us with his new song, “Dusty People”. According to his video description:
I could play mandolin because I grew up playing violin which uses the same tuning.
A really talented guy, don’t you think? He’ll be uomo universale if he could do acting.
